2-Day Patrol Rifle Course

The 2-Day Patrol Rifle Course is designed to build and refine the essential skills required for effective rifle deployment in real-world environments. This course bridges the gap between foundational marksmanship and practical application, ensuring students can deploy the rifle efficiently, accurately, and decisively under stress.
Students will develop a strong performance baseline while learning how to apply those skills in dynamic, decision-based scenarios relevant to patrol operations and armed professionals.
Course Focus Areas
- Rifle Setup & Zeroing
Proper configuration, sling setup, and confirmation of a combat-effective zero - Fundamental Marksmanship
Grip, stance, recoil management, and visual processing for consistent hits - Ready Positions & Rifle Presentation
Efficient weapon presentation from various ready positions - Target Transitions & Multiple Threat Engagements
Eye speed, efficiency, and shot accountability across multiple targets - Reloads & Malfunction Management
Emergency and proactive reloads, immediate action, and problem-solving under pressure - Positional Shooting
Standing, kneeling, prone, and improvised positions for stability and adaptability - Use of Cover & Barricades
Exposure management and effective use of available structures - Movement with a Rifle
Shooting on the move, entering/exiting positions, and maintaining balance and control - Pistol Transitions (if applicable)
Efficient transitions when the rifle becomes non-functional or inappropriate - Decision-Making Under Stress
Applying human performance principles to maintain clarity and execution

Required Gear
- Serviceable rifle/carbine (5.56/.223 or similar)
- Minimum 3–5 magazines (more recommended)
- Rifle sling (2-point preferred)
- Weapon-mounted light (strongly recommended)
- Quality belt or load-bearing setup
- Magazine pouches (rifle + pistol if applicable)
- Pistol + holster + 2–3 mags (if running transitions)
- Eye & ear protection
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Ballistic vest/plate carrier (optional but encouraged for LEO)
- Hydration & food
- Note-taking material
Round Count (Approximate)
- Rifle: 900 – 1,200 rounds
- Pistol (optional): 150 – 300 rounds
